A Grimsby entrepreneur and lifelong Grimsby Town fan has launched a new sports memorabilia business. Liam Ebbs, 44, started GameFrame, a three-dimensional display designed for football and sports jerseys, less than a month ago, as reported by Grimsby Live this week.
GameFrame is a product that mounts a shirt around the shape of a body, offering a different way to show off kits. Customers buy the frame and mount the shirt themselves, eliminating the need to send precious memorabilia away. The first products are due for dispatch towards the end of September and are available for pre-order now. Manufactured in the UK, the venture has already drawn interest from clubs and businesses nationwide.
Who is behind the GameFrame business?
Liam Ebbs lives in Grimsby with his wife Amy and their children, 18-year-old Leila and 13-year-old George. He spent two decades in construction and house-building, working in procurement and quality control. Before that, in his early twenties, he ran a vintage clothing store with market stalls and shops in Lincoln. "I’ve always had a bit of an entrepreneurial spirit, but life got in the way, house, kids, things like that," Ebbs said. The idea for GameFrame was born around the family kitchen table, and the goal is to build it into a lasting family business, with his family already helping on TikTok and social media.
What are the ambitions for GameFrame?
The immediate dream is to get GameFrame products into Grimsby Town. Ebbs has been in conversations with professional clubs about linking up with heritage products and has spoken to local sides. He is scheduled to meet the chairman at nearby Cleethorpes Town. Currently operating from home, the business aims to grow as a recognised family brand in the sports memorabilia space. "It’s a completely different way of displaying football or sports jerseys in general," Ebbs explained about his product's unique appeal.
